Blythe Ayne

Blythe Ayne, Ph.D., lives on ten acres of forest in Washington state in the Cascade Mountain foothills with a few domestic and numerous wild creatures, and is steward to her forest’s trees and creatures. She writes an ever-growing inventory of poetry, nonfiction, fiction, short stories, articles, and illustrated kids’ books. 


Her writings include over fifty fiction and nonfiction books, and publication in excess of 1,000 poems, short stories, and nonfiction articles in online and print venues. 


She has received numerous writing awards, including: Willamette Writers Kay Snow Award, The PEN Syndicated Fiction Project, SFPA (Science Fiction Poetry Award), CCLM grants, and National Endowment for the Arts grants, among others.  She received her Doctorate from the University of California at Irvine in the School of Social Sciences, majoring in psychology and ethnography, with a minor in her undergraduate work in creative writing.
