The frustrating part, at least for historian-in-training Phillip, is the evidence of said trial is slim-to-none, and disappearing as fast as he can find it. Normally his academic heart would be devastated (the horror of having to start his dissertation over!) but he just met the love of his life so it is hard to be mad.

Now he has to figure out the new rules in play because the one time they burned witches there were consequences.
